WHO WE ARE

Built to Be the Easiest Part of Your Project.

Most GCs get burned on demo. Crew shows up late. Dust shuts down other trades. Something gets damaged and suddenly nobody’s accountable. Projects stall. Your reputation takes the hit.

We built San Juan Tuff to be the opposite of that. Founded in 2023 in Western Colorado, we’re a selective demolition and labor company with one non-negotiable standard: clean, safe, controlled execution — on your timeline, with the liability on us. We scope it, execute it, and leave the site cleaner than we found it. If we break something, we fix it. If we don’t deliver, you don’t pay for that portion.

Our crews are employee-owners in training. We invest in leadership, safety certifications, and business skills — because the people doing the work directly impact your project and your reputation. We operate by four non-negotiables: safety, integrity, cleanliness, and service. Every time.

THE TEAM

Daniel Vernon – CEO & Visionary
Daniel is the co-founder and CEO of San Juan Tuff. Born and raised in Montrose, he started the company in 2023 alongside Austin with one mission: build something that gives blue-collar workers a real shot. What began with 65 cold calls and a single interior gut is now a multi-crew operation trusted by GCs across Western Colorado.

Daniel leads company strategy, sales, and brand positioning. He believes how a company shows up on a jobsite reflects everything about who they are. A committed Christian, he’s devoted to his wife Danielle and daughter Sage. Off the clock, you’ll find him training Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Austin Hemphill – Co-Founder & COO
Austin is the co-founder and COO of San Juan Tuff. Born in Cortez, he’s the operator behind the operation — building the systems, managing the crews, and making sure every commitment we make actually gets executed. His years in construction and mining gave him a firsthand understanding of what hard work looks like on a jobsite.

Austin’s been chasing ownership since he was a kid, and San Juan Tuff is the vehicle he built to provide for his family and create real opportunity for others. A committed Christian, he’s devoted to his wife Tashawna and their three kids — Ayla, Johnny, and Winnie.

Jonathan Howell – CFO & Office Manager
Jonathan is a co-owner and CFO of San Juan Tuff. He came in as our first hire and earned his ownership stake through hard work, initiative, and a refusal to stop learning. He runs all company finances, HR, and office operations — and holds multiple bookkeeping certifications he earned on his own time.

A follower of Christ, Jonathan also trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu and approaches everything — business included — the same way: outwork the problem.
